How might we reshape HTC’s brand image with a fixed budget?

Outcome

Several U series launches from the U Ultra onward moved the brand on from its earlier image, carrying one new campaign language across web, film, print and events.

How might we help users effortlessly keep their phones running smoothly without intrusive ads or complicated settings?

Outcome

Launched with the HTC 10 in 2016 — 4.5 stars and over a million downloads, without hijacking the experience with ads; the whole UI animates in code, not video.

How might we evolve a glanceable cover-screen experience to deliver clearer, more informative feedback without adding complexity?

Outcome

Shipped and patented (TW D182760), with an International Design Awards 2017 Silver — and a palette chosen by wavelength, because the cover is deliberately blurry.

How can we design this experience for faster human–device interactions, with key info at a glance and fewer steps to act?

Outcome

Shipped with third-party notification support, eight holiday themes and three companion apps, and won a 2015 Red Dot and an iF Design Award.

How might we craft a distinct and seamless user experience that embodies HTC’s brand values?

Outcome

Four years of shipped generations — lock screens, BlinkFeed, the home-level guideline, and motion treated as a way to verify and improve the experience rather than decorate it.
